JuJu's Land

I'm a little late on posting this for Halloween, considering that it has only been an hour and 30 minutes since Halloween ended. I would've posted sooner but felt a little lazy to do so.  Haha. This past Saturday, my husband and I were invited to a Halloween party at a friends house. I decided to make cake pops and attach a label to them with the name I plan on naming my company, JuJu's Treats , and with the Facebook address so that they can go on it and "Like" the page. 

Y esterday, (Oct. 2nd, 2011) my husband and I went to the Real Steel Los Angeles premiere at the Gibson Amphitheater. We got to walk down the red carpet and it was intense.  We actually walked through it twice because we wanted to get a glimpse of Hugh Jackman.  It was to insane!  Haha amongst all the Real Steel stars there, I didn't know there were going to be other famous people. I just thought it would be the people in the movie.  So, I'll put a list of everyone we saw down below and you'll just have to Bing them or IMDB them to see who they are, lol.  Oh yeah, and I totally forgot my camera at home. I couldn't believe it because I always have my camera with me. It's just that I had put the battery to charge and I totally forgot about it, until halfway to the event. =/

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I sure am! Tomorrow I will be attending the premiere to the movie Real Steel.  I'm excited for that.  Ok, now to the cake pops. My younger sister, her husband, and her daughters came over to spend the night, and my 3 year old niece came up with the idea of making cake pops.  Well, her and her sister fell asleep on me and I ended up doing them on my own.  I just finished and it is 4:12am. I'm so very tired and just want to go to bed. Anyway, back to the pops.  This was my first time doing them, and I thought it was going to be easy, well I thought wrong. I had trouble melting the chocolate and getting the cake to stay on the stick.  I just ended up doing 10.  I think that's enough for them, lol.

This evening, as I was studying for my Anthropology class, my dad comes into my room and says, "Julie, look what you got".  I turn around and it's this huge cardboard box.  I immediately got up and went to open it.  I remembered that about a week ago the Bing Advocacy Program manager, Tanya, sent me an e-mail asking me if my address was correct in the database because she wanted to send me something.  I automatically thought of her and that e-mail. My husband assumed I ordered something online, and he was like, "what did you order this time?".  I told him nothing and that I was totally being honest. haha.

Wow! I have some good news.  Some news which I have been waiting for for like 4 or 5 years, and other news which has to do with a contest. First good news.  About 4 or 5 years ago, I took a test for employment with the United States Postal Service.  I took one test for the District of Riverside and the other for the District of Santa Ana.  I passed both test.  Well, a couple of days later I get an interview for a Rural Carrier for Riverside, but I was denied because I needed at least 2 years of driving experience, which I didn't have. Now, years later, I get an e-mail stating that I was chosen for an interview for the District of Santa Ana (which includes Santa Ana, Anaheim, Long Beach, and City of Industry processing and distribution centers)for the position Postal Support Employee (PSE) Clerk.  This position is working in the processing and distribution center in any of the four locations.  It's not for a mail carrier position.  I'm excited because I did get the job, pr

I passed the first step to the Sheriff 911 Communications Officer!  I'm super excited.  The next step is the CritiCall exam and I have that schedule for the 20th of October.  Eeek, nervous on that one.  I 'm hoping and praying that I do good. On another good note, I also got into one of the classes that I was on the waiting list for.  After e-mailing all the professors in all the classes I was in the wait list for, two weeks later  and a couple days before registration dates were over

That question I ask myself everyday.  I don't beat myself with it but it is something I do think about when I sit here staring at a blank page.  So once again I have nothing on my mind as to what to blog about.  I had so many ideas, but as I sit here and look at my screen I draw a blank image in my head.  Nothing comes to mind.  I couldn't even think of a post title.  I had to go back to re-write the first two sentence once I did come up with a title.  I know before you start blogging you need something already in mind but for me there's nothing.  Hopefully as I type away something will come up or else

I would like to share yesterday's Bing homepage image.  Their Labor Day image to salute all of the hard workers in America was breathtaking to me.  I just felt like wow this image is so beautiful.  I just feel like I could never do whatever it was the man in the picture was doing, just because it looks so high.  Eeek, lol. This Labor day weekend was full of family get together's and a street fair.  I had a really good time.  On Saturday, was my grandmas 82nd birthday party.  All of her sons, daughters, grandchildren, grand grand children and even grand grand grand children lol, where there.  Yeah, it was a good night because they even got her a Mariachi

This past week I received an e-mail for a job I had applied for saying that I was eligible to take the first part of the hiring process for becoming a 911 Communications Officer for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.  Today, I took that first part which was a 2 part 5 minute each typing test online.  Both test were the same.  Best score is the one they will take.  I'm hoping I did good so I can move on.  If not, I'm hoping that they will let me re-take the test in the future. Anyway, the hiring process is as follows:

Yesterday (Saturday, August 27th) I went to San Pedro, CA with a couple of family members and friends to the fish market.  I personally do not like fish and seafood.  I have something against fish and seafood, even though I'm a hypocrite because I like tuna salad, lol.  I can't eat fish or seafood.  It grosses me out when I see it and smell it.  I don't know, it's just me.  Anyway, as everyone else was eating their

Went shopping for school supplies today.  I didn't really buy anything other than a 1 1/2 inch binder, 2 college rule paper packets, a pencil pouch, & some highlighters.  Some of the other things like pencils and pens I already have.  It is a bit hard shopping for these things because sometimes you buy some thing that you really don't need, or you just forget what you need.  I'm just going to wait until I get into a class (because I'm on the waiting list for all the classes I planned on registering in)

I totally forgot that the street sweeper went by today.  I went outside and saw that damn ticket on the windshield of my car.  I usually set my alarm to let me know when to move my car, and I made sure last night

Wow! Two blogs in one night.  I need to post it out while it's still fresh in my mind. About 4 years ago I stopped going to school.  About that time I had applied for a certificate in Administration of Justice, but my application was sent back to me because I forgot to fill something out.  I never sent it back because I was in the process of moving out to my husbands (then boyfriend) house, so I totally forgot about it.  Well, this year I applied for it again and I'm finally getting it. I will receive my State Certificate in Administration of Justice in October.  I'm super excited!

This past weekend was two of my older sisters kids and her sister in laws birthday party.  My sister had requested I do three separate cakes, but I decided to put the three cakes together making it a three tier cake. She had first told me to make a Wonder Woman cake for her daughter, a construction cake for her son and a guitar cake for her sister in-law.  When she told me this I was like, "Oh my!".  I would've done it, and I don't want to sound needy and stuff but I didn't have the money to pay for it all and she wasn't going to pay me cause it was a gift from me to them.  After a while, she then told me to put her son and daughters cake together into a full sheet cake but still make a guitar cake.  So that was a bit better.  Then I couldn't find any

Last month (July 27th) was my 29th birthday.  Instead of going out to a club or bar (I don't drink and it was my day so I picked to go to an amusement park instead), I decided to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA.  I had an amazing time.  The weather was perfect because although it was hot, there was a very cool breeze and it felt nice. I ended my birthday eating at Denny's after the park.

So this past week my niece had her Kindergarten promotion and had requested for me to make her a Hello Kitty cake.  I searched the web for a Hello Kitty with a graduation cap and I found a perfect picture, (I will post picture below so you can get an idea of what I was trying to do).  Since it wasn't going to be for a party or anything like that I decided to make her a small one for her, her little sister, and brother.  The cake came out cute but it wasn't the best.

So, I bought the Maybelline New York FIT ME Foundation and it sucks balls!  The coverage is nice but it just wasn't fit for my skin. I got a freaking allergic reaction.  I've worn it twice, and the first time it just made my skin dry.  I didn't really think anything of it, I just thought it was cause of the weather.  Yesterday, when I was at my sisters house, I thought I was just allergic to her room, lol so I told her to give me some allergy pills.  This morning, OMG, my face was burning and it was extremely dry and red.  It still itches and burns

This past weekend I made a cake for my little niece Jenelle's 3rd b-day.  She requested for me to make her a chocolate Julius monkey cake with strawberry cupcakes.  I did this the same way I made the Winnie the Pooh cake, but this time I made it with buttercream and chocolate buttercream.  All made from scratch.

I am so tired after standing all day making this wonderful Winnie the Pooh cake requested by one of my cousins.  I need to buy myself some better shoes for standing long period of times.  Well, here are some pictures I took while creating this cake.  It's not the best in the world but for an amateur it isn't so bad.  I'm proud of it.

So my husband and I have been together for over 10yrs now and married for almost 7 months, and we have always had unprotected sex (I don't condone unprotected sex).  Okay, I won't say that we have always had unprotected sex, maybe it's been protected like 10 times, I don't know.  But yeah, I'm starting to feel like we're never ever going to be able to conceive.  It sucks feeling this way. 

I recently went to my local Wal-Mart store and as I was waiting in line to pay, I saw this cute but weird looking lip balm. The shape and color (kind of a soft red) of this lip balm caught my attention.  The name of the Lip Balm is Summer Fruit from EOS .  The other one they had was Lemon Drop SPF15.  They have 5 different kinds in total on their web-site.

These are some cakes and some other treats that I made for my family.  I have always loved to bake cakes but never loved decorating, so I would just bake the cake and that would be it.  Until, last year in January 2010 was when I decided to bake and decorate a cake for one of my nieces.  She absolutely loved it!  So since then I've been baking cakes and decoration them for the family.
